Honored to receive the Thirty-Sixth Robert J. Melosh Medal!
My presentation topic was “Multiphysics Simulations of Flow Over Complex Geometries Using an Octree-Based Shifted Boundary Method.” I highlighted my contributions to advancing the Shifted Boundary Method (SBM) to make it more accurate, efficient, and broadly applicable.
I truly enjoyed spending time with the judges, Professor Peter Wriggers and Professor Glaucio Paulino. Their talks on Third Medium Contact and Origami Metamaterials were especially inspiring.
Special thanks to Professor (Amir)Hossein Salahshoor and Professor Johann Guilleminot for organizing and hosting the event. It was a pleasure meeting many talented finalists.
Deep gratitude to my supervisors, Dr. Baskar Ganapathysubramanian and Dr. Adarsh Krishnamurthy. Thanks also to Professor Guglielmo Scovazzi for invaluable discussions on SBM and FEM.
Finally, thanks to my family, colleagues at ISU, and my team at ANL for your encouragement and support.
